Buildings
The “Every Building Has a Story” exhibit represents our best effort to reconstruct St. Catharines the way it looked in 1887. Like any representation of the past, however, the cityscape we present here is a historical interpretation, based on the evidence we had at hand and our ability to read it. On this page, we present here the evidence we used to reconstruct the buildings of St. Catharines. It shows, particularly in the links to Paradata, the evidence and methods we used to reconstruct the size, shape, and surface appearance of all buildings in our exhibit. It also shows out interaction with local experts in heritage, who reviewed our reconstructions, and our efforts to meet their criticism.
