I hope you enjoyed this brief tour of our lovely city. I know I’ve learned a great deal. I should probably head back to McLaren’s, though.  They’re waiting on me to pick out my dress for tonight’s concert. I wish you well on the remainder of your tour. I hope you’ve come to learn something about this city that I now deeply appreciate. St. Catharines is full of stories like these, stories that in my present and in the future include abolitionists and car makers, professional hockey players and writers, vintners, hair cloth makers and fictional detectives who did business at Diana Sweets. Those stories are connected to our community’s built heritage. Each historic building points to the people who helped make this region such a phenomenal place to live. And each building points to a truth that I hope you’ve come to appreciate: that every building has a story. Have a wonderful day!
